Co-host DarrylW4 took a flight out to the Geocoinfest 2010 – Twin Cities Mega-event and assembled this look at the weekend of caching and events. He starts by caching with the hosts of the sir_zman and Super R) for the event’s Passport Cache Runs, then hits the 2010 Geocoinfest Meet and Greet event on Saturday where he interviewed committee member NOSNOW. Sunday was the mega-event (Geocoinfest 2010 – Twin Cities) including an interview with Geocoinfest founder avroair.

Available in the App Store this evening is an update to the Geocaching Buddy App.Version 5.0. GCBuddy is an iPhone/iPod Touch app for assisting in puzzle and multi-caches. This update include several enhancements including projection and improved searching as outlines in the release notes.

The other night i was at my my in-laws house and i checked my email on my iPod and saw a new cache published that was on the trail right by their house. I didnt have my GPSR with me however my wife had her iPhone. She dosnt have any geocaching apps on the phone. So i opened up the geocache page on her phone. Clicked on the Google maps link which opened the maps app. This put a red flag on the map where the cache was. with the location services on i could also so a blue dot on the map where i was. As i walked the blue dot got closer to the red flag. Once the blue dot was on the red flag i looked and there was the cache! We were FTF. we did this all on the iPhone with no special software!

Checking my iPhone for updates I discovered that MotionX GPS LIte have been updated to version 12.5. The most notable change seems to been improved distance measurements.-- Posted From My iPhone
