    >Being from the southwest I was shocked that no one mentioned cactus thorn removal.

    There are two ways to remove thorns that work well. For the big ones use tweezers but for the small fine ones make sure that you have duct tape in your bag. You can put a strip of tape on the thorns and then rip the thorns out. The little ones would take days to get out with tweezers and with duck tape it only takes a few minutes.

    We also keep aspirin to reduce pain and sunscreen. These are pretty important if you are stuck somewhere and hurt and have little shade.
